Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior

Hi Believers! I hope you all are doing well! I know you all are nice and caring people who does many good deeds for other people such as family, friends, strangers, co-workers, and more. I want to first thank you for all the kindness you are putting out in this world because the world always needs it.

Although, you do good deeds it’s not enough for you to enter Heaven. That doesn’t mean you stop doing those good deeds, but it does mean you ask yourself the question, “What must I do in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and receive Eternal life with Jesus?”

The answer is in Romans 10:9 (NASB) “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Also, in Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB) “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

In these two scriptures, it explains if you believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins then you will be saved. You will be saved and receive the ultimate gift which is Eternal Life.

You cannot buy your salvation with good deeds nor can your salvation be taken away. The ONLY way you will receive the gift of salvation is through your faith in Jesus Christ and Christ alone.

Also, being a kind person doesn’t mean you are sinless. The reason why I bring this up is because before I gave my life to Christ and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior, I believed I didn’t sin because I was a happy, nice, and giving person. I viewed sin with unpleasant acts such as drinking, smoking, and stealing.

I wasn’t engaging with these acts therefore I thought I was perfect and didn’t sin. So since I believed I didn’t sin that meant I didn’t need Jesus to die for my sins. Once I realize that I am a sinner and that I sin everyday whether I am aware of it or not I needed saving from my Savior Jesus Christ through His death. In addition to repenting of my sins daily and asking God for forgiveness.

How do I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior?
You have to truly believe that Jesus saved you by Him dying on the cross. I would suggest reading the Gospel John so you learn about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Find a quiet space  to spend time with God and read 1 chapter from John each day. Before you read your chapter, pray and invite God into your presence. The more you spend time with Jesus and the more you read your Bible, the more you will get to know Him and acknowledge Him as your Savior!
